Discovering the Beauty of the Cabot Trail through Candles

Growing up, summer meant one thing: a family trip to Cape Breton.

My parents would pack the car, and off we’d go. I remember sitting in the backseat, next to my brother, as we played games and shared snacks, oblivious to the beauty around us. It wasn’t until I returned to the Cabot Trail as an adult that I truly grasped its magic. The sweeping vistas, cliffs that embrace the coastline, and vibrant autumn leaves left me completely breathless. Suddenly, the stories my parents had shared came to life, and I finally understood their profound love for this remarkable place.

Each turn revealed stunning views, and every stop offered new adventures. Hiking to hidden waterfalls, exploring charming villages, and savouring fresh seafood. In those moments, I felt a deep connection to my roots, knowing that both sides of my family come from Glace Bay. As the granddaughter of a coal miner, the landscapes I encountered were not just beautiful; they were woven into my heritage, echoing tales of resilience and pride passed down through generations.

To celebrate this cherished connection to my Cape Breton roots, I’m excited to introduce our Celtic Colours Candle. Inspired by the essence of this beautiful island, it captures the warmth of autumn with notes of earthy leaves, soft woods, and a hint of spice.

You can find the Celtic Colours Candle on our website, and at select retailers across the Maritimes. burningflame.ca > retailers
